I've used Mark Baldwin's games bible template ever since I was a confused first year and it was pretty much the first google result. As he mentions in it's introduction, it's not a conclusive template but it's easy to adapt to each project and certainly makes an easy to manage draft document. I put in some quick slap dash formatting in it, too, so that it fits easily into my universities preferred report making structure though I doubt I'll be submitting this particular document in that style.
SO.
Looking at my template I've broken down what I need to do into sections, which in turn have subsections. I haven't moved back to Middlesbrough yet, but when I do I hope to get a part time job working three days a week, leaving three days to do work and one day for funsies. Past experience has shown me I work best doing a 10a.m-6p.m with an hour for lunch then another for the occasional 10 minute break to stretch my legs/get coffee/
try to chat up the dude working on the computer next to me/check e-mails so assuming that I actually get 27 hours a week work done... there's 26 weeks and a bit until hand in day. I want to try and get my report written along side the project, but let's knock three weeks off of that for report refining since I am appalling at that part. So, say my aim is to get my actual bible completed ready for handing in by 15th April, a birthday present to myself.
Hold on, the 30th is a Saturday. You know what'd be nice? Getting everything handed in on Friday and having a nice Sabbath dinner with Liz and bumming about all Saturday. Let's aim for that.
30th April is a Monday.
ReplyDeleteYou should get your introduction chapter (with your objectives and a basic description of what you are doing, why you are doing it, and how you plan to go about doing it) written within the first couple of weeks.
I can then give you some feedback on your writing and help you to improve this, since you appear to think it will be a problem.
Reading all of this I can't see why you think that.

Thank you! I think I'm probably making it a bigger deal in my mind. Psyching myself out!
